Lonely Planet, a travel guide site and a well-known travel guide book recently launched a list of the best places to visit.

These places are grouped into four categories, namely cities, countries, regions, and prices.

Reported by Lonely Planet, here are the 5 best destination in the world. Come on, listen, who knows it could be a reference to design your itinerary on this year’s vacation or coming years:

  1. Chile

Being home to six UNESCO world heritage sites, Chile, is often ‘covered up’ with other countries also in Latin America.

This is naturally the case, because you need ‘extra’ fees when visiting there when compared to other countries, such as Mexico, Argentina, or Brazil.

Apparently, the difference in extra prices was due to the location of isolated Chile. Chile itself borders the Pacific Ocean in the west and is crossed by the Andes Mountains. The dry Atacama Desert limits Chile to the north, and its south borders Patagonia.

Even so, visiting Chile can give you a different holiday sensation. In this place you can not only explore the dry desert, but also can enjoy the cold snow or chat with penguins at the Humboldt Penguin Reserve. Also take time to visit Easter Island and enjoy white wine from Casablanca.

  1. South Korea

Famous for K-Pop Wave, Ginseng Country has a variety of interesting tourist attractions. Various cities in South Korea, such as Seoul, Busan, and its surroundings are known as places that offer a variety of interesting tours.

Host of the 2018 Winter Olympics, South Korea provides a variety of public transportation options that are safe and comfortable to use. For example, a bus or train at high speed.

You can enjoy a variety of former South Korean palaces in Seoul and Jeonju, hunt books on Bosu-dong Book Store Alley, see traditional houses in Busan, and enjoy the beauty of the ocean in Jeju.

In addition, the Jeollanamdo area can also be an alternative choice for Muslim tourists, because this area has been Muslim friendly by providing 22 halal restaurants that you can choose from.

  1. Portugal

Known for his handsome footballer, like Christiano Ronaldo, Portugal was able to reach the top three of the best countries to visit the Lonely Planet version.

Bordering Spain, Portugal or also known as Porto is able to reach the interest of a world traveler with its tourist choices. In the past two years, Portugal opened a series of beautiful museums, such as MAAT (Museum of Art, Architecture, and Technology) and Air Museum.

In addition, in 2016 around 300 beaches in Portugal received Blue Flag certification. Blue Flag is a certificate issued by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) for beaches that comply with sustainable environmental standards, one of which is The Algarve.

  1. Djibouti

Located in the East African region, precisely in the Gulf of Aden, Djibouti is the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea.

Independent on June 27, 1977, this neighboring country was inhabited by three major tribes, namely Somali, Afar, and Arab. Even so, because of its long occupation by France, its citizens were accustomed to using French in their daily lives.

Dealing with the Red Sea and mountains on the other hand makes Djibouti a rich choice of vacation. Not only can you swim and dive, but you can also climb mountains without spending a lot of time.

In addition, for you seafood enthusiasts, the location of Djibouti which is close to the Red Sea allows you to get seafood at a cheap price.

Djibouti itself is currently in the process of dramatically tearing through nature that occurs due to the pull of movement between three tectonic plates. For that, you must be careful when visiting Djibouti.

  1. New Zealand

New Zealand offers a variety of holiday experiences in one place. You can enjoy rainforest, beach, sea, food, Maori culture, chat with wild animals, like seals, and shop in only one place. You can start a vacation from Northland or South, depending on the list of tourist attractions to be visited.

Sandboarding at Cape Reinga, meeting seals at Seal Coast Safari, and visiting museums, as well as exhibition of action figures, Weta Cave Workshop, can you do in this Kiwi Country. The British Royal Family even vacationed in the country of origin of the Maori tribe.
